Equestrian Surfaces

We recommend equestrian riding arena surfaces consisting of a 100mm (4 inch) layer of Equestrian Silica Sand followed by a 50mm (2 inch) layer of Equestrian 20mm Rubber Chippings. We have supplied thousands of tonnes of each product and have found the combination to provide a good all round equestrian surface. It is not essential that Rubber Chippings are used in combination with the Silica Sand although the Rubber Chippings help to take the 'deadness' out of the sand by giving the cushion and response required from surfaces when jumping or taking part in dressage. Our Equestrian Rubber Chippings also do a great job in helping to preserve moisture in the sand and reduce wind erosion.

As well as Equestrian Silica Sand and Rubber Chip surfaces we also supply Equestrian Stabilising Fibre which is generally used as a sand improver. This fibre based product is designed to be combined with Silica Sand in order to provide stable riding surfaces. The fibre itself consists of nylon and a small percentage of rubber crumb recovered from the recycling of tyres by an intensive shredding and seperating process. The 'root' like nature of our fibre ensures the sand and fibre bind together creating a surface that is firm but responsive, preventing the tendancy to 'ride deep'. With the added benefit of moisture retention and higher resistance to frost you can be sure to create the ideal equestrian surface when using this product.

We have recently added our new Equestrian Woodfibre Surface for those on a budget or those with a more environmentally friendly arena in mind. Equestrian Woodfibre is made from shredded timber . The product is screened to remove fines thus creating a fibrous product that knits together to give a stable, free draining equestrian surface.
