Delivery Schedule

Delivery Vehicles

MainlandAggregates.co.uk have access to multiple vehicles all over the UK ensuring that we can offer you the most cost effective and flexible transport options for your goods. By utilising a vehicles’ backload capacity we are able to pass the cost savings on to you, the consumer, whilst at the same time reducing carbon emissions caused by empty goods vehicles travelling on our roads.
The delivery vehicle used will depend on the site i.e. access restrictions. We have access to all types and sizes of vehicle so whatever your requirements we will be able to help. Smaller consignments such as bulk bags or palletised goods are generally delivered by pallet network whereas larger consignments are delivered by rigid or articulated lorries. All orders under 10 bulk bags/pallets will be delivered by a vehicle with a tail-lift and NOT a crane unless specified. A crane can be requested for smaller consignments at additional cost. See Terms and Conditions for more information about our delivery requirements.

Obviously with all vehicles we must be able to obtain safe and trouble free access to the point of unloading. It is imperative that you inform us of any problems that may arise before you place an order so we can organise a delivery vehicle to suit your requirements. Access restrictions may require us to deliver goods over 20 tonnes in 2 parts using our smaller vehicles. This will of course incur an extra charge. Any loose loads that only part load a vehicle will be charged full haulage rate as if the vehicle was fully loaded. Please take time to familiarise yourself with our delivery vehicles below.

Rigid Lorry with Tail Lift and Pallet Trolley

Rigid Curtainsider with Tail Lift

Our most commonly used delivery vehicle for bagged and palletised goods. This outfit consists of a standard rigid curtainsided lorry with a hydraulic platform to the rear which is used to lower goods from the lorry to the ground. Once goods have been lowered to the ground the driver uses a manually operated pump trolley to manoeuvre the goods. All goods are palletised to facilitate movement by pump trolley. The pump trolley will only travel over smooth tarmac, concrete or block paving and will not travel over gravel or grass. As the trolley is reliant on the strength of the driver to manoeuvre unfortunately we cannot unload on slopes or bump pallets up kerbs although the driver will make every effort to leave the goods in the required area where possible. This vehicle does not have a crane so is unable to lift goods over walls, fences or hedges. Almost all orders under 10 Bulk Bags/Pallets will be delivered using this method unless otherwise stated. This vehicle will require the same level of access as a large bin lorry. Please our explainer video here for more information

8 Wheeled Tipper Lorry

8 Wheeled Tipper Lorry

Our most commonly used delivery vehicle for loose products. This outfit consists of a rigid lorry with tipper body allowing goods to be discharged loose from the rear. This vehicle is capable of carrying 20 tonnes of loose material at a time. Delivery using this vehicle can be requested for quantities of 10 loose tonnes or more. All quantities under 10 tonnes are supplied in bags only and thus would be subject to delivery by another vehicle. This vehicle is 29ft in length but is no wider than a large bin lorry. It is imperative that the unloading area is free from obstructions such as overhanging trees and cables to prevent damage when the vehicle is tipping.

Articulated Tipper Lorry

Articulated Tipper

This vehicle consists of an articulated lorry with tipping trailer allowing goods to be discharged from the rear. This vehicle is capable of delivering up to 29 tonnes of loose material at a time. Delivery using this vehicle can be requested for deliveries of 20 loose tonnes or more. This vehicle is very large at nearly 50ft in length but is no wider than a large bin lorry. If the vehicle is required to enter a property there must be sufficient room for the vehicle to swing in off the main road as the trailer does not follow the tractor unit when turning.  It is imperative that the unloading area is free from obstructions such as overhanging trees and cables to prevent damage when the vehicle is tipping.

Rigid Lorry with HIAB Crane

Rigid Flatbed with HIAB Crane

This vehicle consists of a standard rigid flatbed lorry with mounted hydraulic crane. This vehicle is capable of delivering up to 14 tonnes at a time. The versatility of the crane allows goods to be unloaded over low hedges, walls and fences provided they are close enough to the lorry. Delivery using this vehicle can be requested for deliveries of 10 Bulk Bags/Pallets or more (*additional charges may apply). It is imperative that the unloading area is free from obstructions such as overhanging trees and cables. This vehicle will require the same level of access as a large bin lorry.

Delivery using this vehicle can be requested for deliveries of 16 Bulk Bags/Pallets or more (*additional charges may apply). This vehicle is very large at nearly 50ft in length but is no wider than a large bin lorry. If the vehicle is required to enter a property there must be sufficient room for the vehicle to swing in off the main road as the trailer does not follow the tractor unit when turning.  It is imperative that the unloading area is free from obstructions such as overhanging trees and cables.  Although this vehicle is large it is usually possible for it to pull up outside a property on a standard road and unload safely.

Articulated Curtainsider + Forklift

Articulated Curtainsider + Moffett Forklift

This vehicle consists of a standard articulated lorry with curtainsided trailer complete with its own forklift for self off-loading. This vehicle is capable of delivering up to 26 tonnes at a time. Delivery using this vehicle can be requested for deliveries of 16 Bulk Bags/Pallets or more (*additional charges may apply). This vehicle is very large at nearly 50ft in length but is no wider than a large bin lorry. If the vehicle is required to enter a property there must be sufficient room for the vehicle to swing in as the trailer does not follow the tractor unit when turning. This vehicle is ideal for use where it is not possible for the vehicle to enter the property as the vehicle can park across the entrance to a property allowing the mounted forklift to run up and down the driveway to unload. The Moffett Forklift is ideal for properties with long driveways where goods are required closer to the house.

Part Load Charges Explained

When a vehicle travels from A to B it costs the same amount in fuel, wear and tear, drivers wages, tax, insurance, etc regardless of the quantity of goods it is carrying. So for example, if the delivery charge for going from Northampton to York is £200 it doesn't matter if the vehicle has 10 tonnes on board or 20 tonnes on board the cost is still £200. However, the delivery charge per tonne then varies according to the tonnage on board. E.g. if you have 20 tonnes on board delivery is costing you £10 per tonne because the £200 is offset against 20 tonnes. If you have just 10 tonnes on board the delivery charge is £20 per tonne as the £200 is offset against just 10 tonnes. Rather than have a seperate charge added on the end for part load charges we incorporate it into the final price.
*Please Note: We deliver to UK destinations only. Delivery charges vary according to your location and the product required hence we are unable to display delivery rates for loose loads on this website. However, requesting a no obligation quote is quick and easy and we usually respond within 10 minutes.

Please take a look at our Terms and Conditions for more information about delivery and our requirements.
