Choosing the best gravel for your driveway is an essential decision that can impact both its functionality and curb appeal. One of the top recommendations for driveway gravel is the 40mm Graphite Grey Slate Chippings. These chippings not only provide a stunning, contemporary look but also offer the durability required to withstand the weight and movement of vehicles. The larger size of these slate chippings helps to ensure that they stay in place, reducing the need for frequent top-ups. 


  
Another excellent choice is the 20mm Pink Granite Chippings. Known for their hard-wearing properties and vibrant colour, these granite chippings can add a touch of elegance to your driveway while providing a stable and durable surface. The 20mm size is ideal as it is large enough to prevent the stones from getting lodged in car tyres, yet small enough to create a smooth, drivable surface. Plus, they are easy to maintain. 


  
Although 10mm Trent Gravel has its charm and can be used in various landscaping projects, it's not the best choice for driveways. This is because stones under 20mm tend to get stuck in tyre treads and offers little grip for you to drive easily on. So, if you're set on using this gravel, we recommend installing gravel grids to keep the stones in place. Or, for a more straightforward solution, opting for the 20mm Trent Gravel is advisable. It's better suited for driveways and doesn't require the additional step of installing grids. 


  
Cotswold chippings, while beautiful, may not be the most practical option for driveways due to their softer nature, which can lead to quicker wear under the pressure of cars. A better alternative would be the York Cream Chippings 20mm, which is made from a much harder limestone, offering both aesthetic appeal and the resilience needed for driveway use.
